For Immediate Release: February 5, 2024

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Board of the Rhode Island Health and Educational Building Corporation (RIHEBC), the state’s largest provider of bond financing for health and educational institutions, today announced that Dylan Zelazo has begun work as the organization’s new Executive Director.

“After conducting a national search, the Board is pleased to welcome Dylan Zelazo as RIHEBC’s new Executive Director,” said Board Chair Channavy Chhay. “Dylan’s deep experience working in municipal government and finance will ensure the continued success of RIHEBC’s mission to finance construction projects sponsored by Rhode Island municipalities and our state’s non-profit health, educational, cultural, and other not-for-profit institutions. We’re excited that his many relationships with Rhode Island’s municipal leaders and other organizations will lead to excellent customer service, while also growing RIHEBC’s footprint to better serve the needs of our state’s many growing nonprofits.”

Zelazo most recently worked as Director of Administration for the City of Pawtucket, where he supervised all department heads, developed the City’s annual budget, and oversaw economic development projects. He previously worked as a Policy Analyst at the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council. He holds a BA in Political Science from Providence College and an MPA from Indiana University Bloomington’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs. He resides in Cranston with his wife and three children.

“I have spent my career in municipal government and municipal finance, so I understand the facilities financing challenges Rhode Island’s cities, towns, and public school districts are facing,” said Zelazo. “I look forward to continuing RIHEBC’s long history of being a valued partner to our cities and towns as they invest in new school facilities via RIHEBC’s tax exempt bond financing. I am also very excited about the opportunities to expand RIHEBC’s impact by providing new financing mechanisms for Rhode Island’s growing nonprofit educational, healthcare, cultural, performing arts, and social service organizations as they look to invest in their facilities.”
