RIHEBC Awards $100,000 Capital Grant to the Prout School for Completion of New Turf Recreation Field

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – On June 13th, the Rhode Island Health and Educational Building Corporation (RIHEBC) presented a ceremonial $100,000 Capital Grant Program check to the Prout School in Wakefield to assist in the completion of the school’s $2.3 million Turf Field Initiative. The project includes the development of an on-site multi-sport artificial turf field with lighting, a press box, spectator seating and additional parking.

“This Capital Grant will assist the Prout School in completing a new turf field project that will improve both the health and education of its students,” said Kim Mooers, Executive Director of RIHEBC. “That’s exactly what RIHEBC’s mission is all about, and we’re pleased to provide this grant to support the Prout School’s facilities needs.”

“The entire Prout School community thanks RIHEBC for this Capital Grant for our new turf field project,” said David Estes, Principal. “Athletics are a critical part of the educational, physical health, and school experience we provide for our students and this grant will allow us to expand our athletic field area to support our athletics program. We deeply appreciate RIHEBC’s assistance on this important project to better support the health and education of our Prout students.”

RIHEBC’s Capital Grant Program assists eligible institutions in completing capital projects or making equipment purchases that are critical to advancing their missions.
