Notice of Public Hearing to be Held on August 17, 2026 – New England Institute of Technology

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be conducted by the Rhode Island Health and Educational Building Corporation (the “Corporation”) on August 17, 2026, at 10:10 a.m. via telephonic conference in lieu of physical presence at the public hearing. Members of the public may use the dial-in information provided at the end of this notice to access the hearing.

The purpose of the public hearing is to consider the proposal of New England Institute of Technology, a Rhode Island nonprofit corporation (the “Institution”), that the Corporation issue its Higher Education Facility Revenue Bonds, New England Institute of Technology Issue, which will be qualified 501(c)(3) bonds, in a maximum aggregate principal amount not to exceed $40,000,000 (the “Bonds”).

The proceeds of the Bonds will be used to finance and refinance, and to reimburse the Institution for expenditures incurred by the Institution (as may be permitted by federal tax law) for (a) capital projects of the‎ Institution, including but not limited to: (i) the acquisition, construction, renovation, expansion, ‎equipping and/or furnishing of various Institution facilities including, but not limited to, a new approximately 45,000 square foot academic building to be known as the Innovation Center for Building Sciences, including laboratories, industry equipment and learning spaces; (ii) other ‎miscellaneous capital projects included in the Institution’s capital budget over the next three years‎; ‎‎(iii) infrastructure and grounds improvements; and (iv) the ‎acquisition and installation of ‎furnishings, equipment and technological improvements, all of the foregoing to be located on the Institution’s main campus ‎located at One New England Tech Boulevard in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, and (b) costs of issuance of the Bonds.

The owner and/or operator of the projects and facilities to be financed and refinanced with the proceeds of the Bonds will be the Institution.  Neither the State of Rhode Island nor the Corporation is obligated to pay the principal or redemption price of or interest on the Bonds and neither the faith and credit nor the taxing power of the State of Rhode Island or any municipality or political subdivision thereof is pledged to the payment of the Bonds.  The Corporation does not have taxing power.
